Voice of Democracy                 and           Patriot's Pen   Scholarship Contests

If you are interested in receiving information about the Voice of Democracy or Patriot's Pen Contests please complete and submit the form below.  In the comments section you can specify if you are interested in just Voice of Democracy or Patriot's Pen or both.

The deadlines for submittal at the local post level is November 1st for both contests.

Voice of Democracy is for 9th through 12th grade students.  The first place winner at the national level wins a $30,000 scholarship.  There are many other cash prizes as well.  Detailed information can be found at www.vfw.org.

Patriot's Pen is for 6th through 8th grade students.  The first place essay at the national level will receive a $10,000 U.S. Savings Bond.  There are as many as 30 other winners who may receive bonds for $1,000 to $7,500.  Detailed information can be found at www.vfw.org.

	The VFW Scout of the Year Scholarship offers  a $5,000.00 first place and $3,000.00 second  place award to qualifying scouts who have  reached the rank of Eagle Scout or equivalent  rank in another scouting program.  Scouts must be at least 15 years old and be  enrolled in high school at the time of selection.  March 1st each year is the deadline for applications at  the Post level.
