
REVITALIZED CHIPPEWA COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL MONUMENT
Orginally dedicated on June 11, 1978, the Chippewa County Veterans Memorial Monument contains the names of 316 servicemen who were killed in action.
KIA Civil War - 48 WWI - 90 WW2 - 151 Korea - 11 Vietnam - 16
Site work was completed and the new, colored concrete was poured by Nyhus Concrete of Bloomer Wisconsin.
The concrete surface was stamped by Nyhus employees to have the appearance of bedrock.
Seven new flagpoles were installed. One 30 ft for the US and POW/MIA flag and six 20 ft for the service flags.
Flagpoles were purchased from Freedom Flagpole in Eau Claire, WI.
The finished product shown with all flags at half-staff just before they were raised to full-staff on Memorial Day 2009.

KLEIN HALL CHRISTMAS DINNER - DECEMBER 20, 2008
Post member and VAP employee Jodi and Auxiliary member Wanda show off the Holiday cupcakes donated by Kathy Stafford owner of Simply Cakes. Kathy is a new Auxiliary member.
Serving the residents of Klein Hall were Post Commander Bill, Auxiliary members Wanda and Lucyann, and Post member Leroy (taking photo).
Approximatly 20 residents took advantage of the meal and deserts provided by Post 1038.
Also shown are the gift packs donated by the Boyd American Legion Auxiliary and several residents who made monetary donaions.
VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION AND RAFFLE - NOVEMBER 8, 2008
It was cold and a few flurries were flying but the Post Home was full for our 32nd Veterans Day Celebration.
Post 1038 Commander Bill McGann kicks off the Vets Day Celebration and explains the raffle prize rules.
Senior Vice Commander Dan Stafford and Commander Bill McGann show off a plaque and photo presented to Quartermaster Clarence Fagner for his service to the Post as Commander, Adjutant and Quartermaster over the years.
It was also Clarence's 81st birthday.
Whole families showed up to support the Post and have a good time.
A nearly full house made for a fun time and excitement as turkeys, hams, and various other items were raffled off to those present.

The food servers included many VFW Auxiliary members such as Ellie Wittrock on far right.
Approximately 3,500 meals were served on Wednesday.

Post 1038 Ladies Auxiliary President Lucy Le Cleir and Post Commander Bill McGann preside at the Holiday Party held on January 18th.
The Auxiliary presented the Post with a nice monetary gift for 2008.
These ladies learned quickly how to enjoy our Holiday Party on January 18, 2008.
