
The Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council was established in 1958. It is currently comprised of members from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1038, American Legion Post 77, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 92, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 21, Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 550, and AMVETS Post 32. In addition, Post and Chapter Auxiliaries are also members of the council.
The council promotes patriotic values through participation in local and area events listed below. Members also provide military funeral honor guard details for deceased veterans at the request of the family.

Military Funeral Honors Program VFW Post 1038 and council member organizations provide funeral honors for any area veteran at the request of the family. All Honor Guard Members attend DOD training and are certified to conduct funeral rites for veterans.
Members will visit the funeral home wake and attend religious services. The council honor guard will offer a nondenominational prayer, present a United States Flag to the family, and the firing squad will offer a three volley rifle salute and play taps.
